Pit Stop...Roberta, Georgia?

For those of you who are not aware of the new mission that the Lord has set us out on, let me fill you in! My family and I were previously preparing and delivering meals to struggling working class families in Vero Beach, Florida up until early January 2021. It was in December of 2020 that the Lord began to speak to my family about changing direction, and doing campsite ministry. We all decided that God has a great sense of humor, considering none of us had really ever done serious camping, and now here we were prayerfully considering full time RVing! We came to the conclusion through a series of confirmations from the Lord that this was in fact what the Lord desired us to do, so we developed a plan of action and executed. Half of the family (The Livsey’s) set out 5 months prior to the other half of our family (The Bushey’s). In February 2021, the Livsey family hit the ground running, hosting their first set of ministry activities at Peace River in Wachula, Florida (Checkout out “Our Journey” page to view the event). They continued their journey up the east coast and held in North Carolina where they were waiting on the other half of our family (The Bushey’s).
Cue the Bushey’s. It was May 2021 when we decided to put the house on the market. We knew the housing market was hot in Florida at that time, but we didn’t expect it to sell before listing! We were told we had four weeks before we were to be out. We scrambled to get everything sold, moved out, and RV purchased. By the time the end of the four weeks rolled around, we were packed up and ready to hit the road in our new RV. We met up with the Livsey’s in North Carolina where we held our first event (The Bushey’s), and where the Livsey’s held their 5th event.
Fast forward to July. My sister Lindsey, who my family and I have not seen in nearly a year, called us one afternoon in early July to let us know that her and her fiancé were going to drive up to see us in North Carolina. We punched it in to our GPS and realized that they would be driving nearly 18 hours to see us! Yikes! With only a handful of days to visit with us we didn’t think making that long trek made much sense. We needed something a few hours closer to them.
We immediately hopped on the computer and began checking out Harvest Host, Boondocker’s, and our Thousand Trails account to look for sites that were a few hours south of our current location. We were striking out…everything was BOOKED. And why would we expect anything less…it’s peak summer! Sitting there scrambling, my sister Alexis finally said, “Everyone stop! Let’s put our phones down, close up the laptops and wait on the Lord. Tomorrow morning Craig (Alexis' husband) is going to receive a call from someone who is going to offer us a place to stay.” We all agreed, put our phones down and took the rest of the night to rest in His peace.
Sure enough, we wake up in the morning and who receives a call? You guessed it, Craig. A gentleman named Matt who is associated with Legacy Minded Men (the company Craig works for) randomly called him. Craig had only spoken to Matt once before, and it was quite some time ago. Matt was calling to discuss the potential for Seven Roots Ministry to host camps and events at Camp Eunice. Later in their conversation Matt relayed that Camp Eunice was short staffed this summer, and asked if Seven Roots Ministry would like to come and volunteer. He stated that leading up to the days of the camp we could stay on the lake at his personal home, as in, we leave the following day and start heading to Roberta, Georgia! Craig got off the phone and relayed what had just been discussed and our jaws dropped. Not only was this everything that we had prayed for, but God also saw fit to have us volunteer to serve Him following our reunion with our sister. When God delivers, He does so in a way that exceeds all expectations. We spent a joyous 5 days with our sister and her fiancé on the lake, fishing, BBQing, shopping, and kayaking in Roberta, Georgia.
The day after they departed, we headed on over to Camp Eunice where we volunteered in their kitchen, taught ministry classes, played games with the campers, and worshipped the Lord in the campus church. It was such an amazing experience for my family, and the children and staff were incredibly grateful for our presence. We are looking forward to returning to Camp Eunice next year!
Our journey continues back north as we head for New York for multiple family weddings. We are excited to see what new adventures God has in store for our family. All glory to be God for providing for us in ways that we could have never possibly imagined.
